Football achievements
Al-Saadi had a passion for football since he was a child. He grew up playing football, first with his colleagues, and then with the school team. He showed an exceptional talent that made him a top player and qualified him to assume the presidency of the Libyan Football Federation, and he was the first Libyan player to join the Italian Serie A. After playing for al-Ahli Tripoli and al-Ittihad clubs in Libya, he moved to play on the Italian Serie-A football team Perugia, before he later joined Udinese, and then Sampdoria .
The following are some of his most prominent achievements in the football field :
-Improving the Libyan Football Federation’s world ranking from 137th to 61st, the best in the Federation's history .
- Winning the Libyan Premier League playing for al-Ahli club in 2000 and for al-Ittihad club in 2001/2002 .
-Hosting the Italian Super Cup in the Libyan city of Tripoli on August 25, 2002. It was the Cup's first tournament held outside Italy .
- Working hard to prepare a full file for hosting the World Cup in Libya, but the idea could not be materialized due to the scarce capabilities and resources.
